The Vibration Analyzer and Spindle Balancer run on identical hardware. Purchase the $100 Upgrade Kit, which includes the IR tach sensor and 3.5mm cable. Plug in the tach, select Balancer in the device settings, and full balancing capability is enabled. No codes, nothing to reflash. Everything you spend on the Analyzer carries over in full.
